Plot

It follows Catherine Ravenscroft, a television documentary journalist whose work is built around exposing the wrongdoings of long-respected institutions. The reviews here are more entertaining than the actual show lol.

How the hell did Alfonso Cuaron make such a terrible show?

In the first scene, the two young people on the train are irritating from the start, and the mediocre acting continues from there. Even Kevin Kline, who in my eyes can usually do no wrong, seems to be phoning it in.

It’s like the actors have no idea how to play their characters

The narration is unnatural and has a strange, inconsistent sound quality to it. I assume the narration is lifted straight from the book, but it doesn’t always make sense in the context of the TV show.

Kodi Smit-McPhee squirms like a wet rag

For example, sometimes the narration is for Cate Blanchett’s character about her own experiences, which is just weird. Sacha Baron Cohen seems out of place and sometimes becomes strangely hysterical.

It’s all a bit bizarre
